In order to provide a safe and healthy environment for the children and the ministry workers we adhere to the following guidelines.
health + wellness
sickness
If a child or ministry worker has any of the following symptoms, they will not be able to join us in the classes.
Fever of 100 degrees or greater
Vomitting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours
Green or yellow discharge from the nose
Sore throat/coughing
Any undiagnosed rash
Any skin infection such as impetigo, active chicken pox, hand foot mouth, measles, mumps etc.
Any discharge in or around the eyes such as pink eye
Head lice - child should be free of all nits
Notes: Children and workers being treated with antibiotics must be on the prescription at least 24-hours befor joining us in the classroom. Ministry workers are unable to give medication. If a child or worker develops any symptoms of illness, the parent/guardian or Ministry Leader will be notified so they can get the care they need.
Allergies
If a child has any allergies, it will be noted on the registration form and will be posted in the classroom. All workers will be notified of the allergy and procedures.
Biting + Aggressive Behaviour
When a child exhibits biting or aggressive behaviour, we will provide one-to-one care and supervision. Redirection will be given to the child as well as proper verbal direction (ie. “Oh no, your friend is hurt. We don’t hit/bite. Let’s be kind to our friends and tell them with our words that we want them to share.” This encourages empathy and holds a safe limit). Please let us know if this has been an issue in the past so we can be aware.
Crying
Every effort will be made to soothe and comfort a baby/child that is crying. If after 10 minutes the child is still crying, or if it increases to the point of panic, the workers will notify the Ministry Leader and if the Ministry Leader cannot console the child, the parents will be notified and brought in, unless otherwise directed by the parent.
safety + security
For the safety of the children, we only allow scheduled workers, children and parents of the children in the classrooms. Our workers will also remain in the classroom at all times until all the children have been picked up and released back into the care of a parent or guardian.
To learn more about how we enforce safety and security at CFT, we have an extensive Plan to Protect Policy that can be viewed upon request.
parental/
guardian help
We appreciate your partnership in making sure your child has the best time with us in Kingdom Kids. If you have any special requests, helpful tips or anything that might help to ease the transition, please let us know. As a parent/guardian, you are more than welcome to stay with your child as long as they need you in any of our classrooms.
