Stand on Guard // Governing in Love

When we hosted our regional worship and intercession night called, The Ascent, on Sunday, March 3, the Lord began to unfold strategy and reveal His heart to us in preparation for the coming months. This is part four of our series, Stand on Guard. Make sure you check out the previous posts to join in agreement and continue to bring Heaven to earth.

It is humbling to hear the heart of the Father and how deeply He loves. Over and over throughout the night at The Ascent, God brought us back to how He feels about our leaders and His will for them in this chaotic time.

As lovers of God, we love righteousness and justice! And we want righteousness to reign in our nation because we know that it will bring blessing with it. But it’s so important to know that the unrighteousness that is being uncovered by God in this hour is not for the purpose of punishment. That is never God’s heart. How do we know that? Because Jesus came to take all the punishment for us so we could be restored to Him. In Ephesians 6:12 it says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

So, what should our heart motive be towards our leaders who are being exposed? It should be the same as the Father’s! We believe that in this time, God is inviting us to check our hearts and receive a deep revelation of His love for people by asking Him to show us how he sees our leaders and declaring over them blessing and lifting off curses so they can see Jesus.

Here is a really quick guide to check your heart: Is your heart celebrating the humiliation of our leaders? Is it saying things like, “Well, you brought this on yourself.” “You should have known better.” “You deserve all the backlash that you are getting.”

Remember, you reap what you sow. If you are sowing judgement, you will reap it. Be vigilant watchmen over your heart and humble yourself to lean into revelation on how the Father REALLY sees all people involved.

Let’s be the governing Ekklesia who governs with righteousness, justice and LOVE.

Take a listen to the following audio clip. Ask the Lord to bring to you a sense of what He feels and thinks towards our leadership and if it lines up to the Word, pray according to that revelation. We are being reshaped and reformed and we are a force of love to be reckoned with!
