Let the Lord Uncover Us

I am always saddened when I hear about a high-profile Christian leader stepping down from a place of authority because of an immoral lifestyle being exposed. I think about the many lives that are thrown into confusion and the witness/legacy it leaves, not only for the natural family but for the spiritual family.

Everything that is hidden will be shown and everything that is secret will be made known.
- Luke 12:2

A word was released from the Canadian prophetic council. It was a sobering word for the Shepherds and the body of Christ. We are not exempt from having our failures exposed if we continue on in them. While God is our loving Father, He also brings correction to His kids otherwise our behaviour will destroy us. God in His great mercy gives us more than enough time to deal with them privately, otherwise, they become public. The warning goes on to say, “I can’t put devils under your feet if you are in bed with them”.  (Romans 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.)  So, let’s seriously examine where we find ourselves in this season so that we don’t crash and burn.

My dear child, don’t shrug off God’s discipline, but don’t be crushed by it either.  It’s the child he loves that he disciplines; the child he embraces, he also corrects. God is educating you; that’s why you must never drop out. He’s treating you as dear children. This trouble you’re in isn’t punishment; it’s training, the normal experience of children. Only irresponsible parents leave children to fend for themselves. Would you prefer an irresponsible God? We respect our own parents for training and not spoiling us, so why not embrace God’s training so we can truly live? While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God’s holy best. At the time, discipline isn’t much fun. It always feels like it’s going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off handsomely, for it’s the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God.
- Hebrews 12:6-11 MSG

Thank you, Lord for your GREAT grace. We ask that in this season, that You would give us the courage to get up on that altar so You can do heart surgery on us to fix what is broken as we lay ourselves bare before You.  Reveal where we have gotten off course, our wrong attitudes, mindsets and belief systems, so that we can turn from them and run to You. Forgive us for compromising who we are and coming into agreement with anything contrary to your Word. Forgive us for any agreement we have made with the enemy to slander our brothers and sisters which has caused division in your body. May we “pursue righteousness and love so that we will find life, prosperity and honour”. Proverbs 21:21 NIV

We declare over the body of Christ,

Truth’s shining light guides me in my choices and decisions; the revelation of your word makes my pathway clear.  To live my life by your righteous rules has been my holy and lifelong commitment.  I’m bruised and broken, overwhelmed by it all; breathe life into me again by your living word.  Lord, receive my grateful thanks and teach me more of how to please you. - Psalm 119: 105 TPT
