Happy New Year! 5782

We have just moved forward into the Hebrew New Year 5782. God always gives us clues to what is important to Him for the year through numbers. The number two at the end of the year in Hebrew is the word “BET” which means “house". We are in a year of building the house. The number 80 is the Hebrew word “PEY” which is representative of mouth, breath, speech and expression.

We are coworkers with God and you are God’s cultivated garden, the house he is building. God has given me unique giftsas a skilled master builder who lays a good foundation. Afterward another craftsman comes and builds on it. So, builders beware! Let every builder do his work carefully, according to God’s standards. For no one is empowered to lay an alternative foundation other than the good foundation that exists, which is Jesus Christ! - 1 Corinthians 3:9-11

We are all builders regardless of our age. Our lives display our inner world by our words, attitudes and actions. We will either be building our own house or we will be building God’s house. During these ever-changing times, we must remember Jesus is the Cornerstone and plumbline of our lives. When we let our focus wander, we say and do things contrary to who we really are.

Don’t you realize that together you have become God’s inner sanctuary and that the Spirit of God makes his permanent home in you? If any man destroys the house of God, God will destroy him. God’s house is holy. You are the place where He lives. - 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Not only have we crossed over into a new Hebrew year, but we have also entered the Hebrew month of Tishrei. Two of its characteristics are awakening and removing that which would keep us from returning to God and experiencing His Glory. This is pivotal right before a federal election. Only God could pull this off!

When the light shines, it exposes even the dark and shadowy things and turns them into pure reflections of light. This is why they sing, Awake, you sleeper! Rise from your grave, And the Anointed One will shine on you. So be careful how you live; be mindful of your steps. Don’t run around like idiots as the rest of the world does. Instead, walk as the wise! Make the most of every living and breathing moment because these are evil times. - Ephesians 5:14-16

So, we look to you Lord to lead us through these uncertain times, to give us clear direction, to bring revelation, truth and wisdom to navigate these uncharted waters. Help us to be all that you created us to be and fill us with Your Presence so that we will point the lost to You and they will find their way home.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. - Psalm 121:1-4
